Jack?’s review published on Letterboxd:
The mere fact that this film exists is astonishing, but wow, I wasn’t ready for what Marvel had in store.
Avengers Infinity War is an unrelentingly brutal, funny and emotional superhero extravaganza that, along with its follow-up next year, will go on to define the MCU from here on out. This is a truly epic cinematic landmark. It fufills your every dream while shattering every expectation. You’re not going to see any of this coming (well, maybe some of it if you’re a comic book enthusiast like myself, but getting angry at that is like getting angry at a book adaptation for following the same storyline). There’s one sequence that’s noticeably bad, and the narrative definitely suffers from what all Part 1’s suffer from, but this is a film I will undoubtably return to time and time again. And hey, once the fourth film comes out next year, I can even see myself appreciating this one even more than I do already. Heck, I may even bump it up half a star after I rewatch it tomorrow night. What a ride. I just can’t believe it’s coming to an end.
