Really affirmed to me that I am right to want to marry a woman and not a man. Barbara and Anne are so compelling, Reggie is funny but insufferable, Dennis is repulsive. Halfway through my dad turned to my mom and said, “I hope I live long enough that you never get stalked by a creep like that,” and my mom said, “Oh, I could handle him.” I hope my dad lives long enough that my mom never has to kill a man!

Watched the 2007 Director’s Cut, which was shorter than the original, a true sign of a masterful director!

This felt gay and sweet and sad and messy in a good way. Glad it came as a bonus feature for some reason on the DVD of Killer of Sheep I got from the library, I wouldn’t have seen it otherwise and would’ve never heard my new favorite line of dialogue, “I think she’s saying that what you think is an apple is a potato.”

Was I not paying attention or did this movie forget to actually establish what Milada stood for? I understood it was probably, like, not arresting and executing people for their political beliefs but the focus was so tight on anti-communism that the pro-democracy piece sort of got lost.
