Very amateur and unprofessional stage actor.
I’m the guy who’s favorite and least favorite movie have the same title.
This film handles the unreliable narrator choice so well. The action wasn’t always bloody and grimy, it was very Harley Quinn-esque, and I think the final battle fit the tone of the film incredibly well.
The performers also did great. Ewan McGregor gave a fantastic performance (as always) as the Black Mask, Margot Robbie killed it as Harley Quinn, and I thought Rosie Perez was actually kinda fire in her role too.
Overall, it was the fun I expected, but I gave it more than my usual “fun movie” rating for handling the insanity aspect so well and making some overall applaudable artistic choices.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Yeah, I don’t know how he did it.
There’s so much to talk about here, and my thoughts are buzzing around in my head. I can’t figure everything out.
Does this film have problems? Yeah. No movie is perfect, however. There were a couple times where I feel like Ezra Miller’s flash killed the tone, and the epilogue seemed a bit off, considering the true epic that took place before it. However, these are all very minor complaints.
This is a masterpiece. The choreography is stunning. The choirs are fantastic and give the vocals the justice they deserve. None of the performers look like they’re treating this like a joke, which, why would they? This is a dark and engaging tale told expertly through the craft of song. I cannot believe something like this exists. Forget Casablanca, this is the masterpiece of the century.
