This was my most-watched Godzilla movie as a kid, but also my first time with the Japanese cut which I've been hungry to see for decades, and what do you know...it rules!
The satire stuff is genuinely funny, and I insist that Honda's self-interested capitalists are more believable as human villains than Godzilla: KotM positing a well-funded military style ecoterrorism outfit.
How in the hell did nobody making this realize that by making Tad such a good, genuine dude, that everyone is going to root for him and Rosalie to end up together?
Why is the audience expected to root for Topher Grace’s unrequited love while laughing at Kathryn Hahn’s?
