Jaime Rebanal’s review published on Letterboxd:
Everything in Buddies feels raw, but that's also what makes the images that you're seeing more tragic. Arthur J. Bressan, Jr. allows every moment of this movie to speak for itself through that feeling of listening to the faces who've lived through the AIDS pandemic dealing with the hardships in which they'd faced. It's knowing how Bressan draws empathy from the viewers that makes Buddies a powerful work, but all the more beautiful for that too.
Think I can already see favourite potential from this one; already eyeing the Vinegar Syndrome Blu-Ray sooner.
