Soleil Ô ★★★★★

I don't think words will be enough to capture what this movie does so beautifully well - especially in regards to showing the viewers the experience of being an African immigrant in France. Med Hondo's Soleil Ô was made on a small budget, but it also feels so much larger, creating a more psychologically oppressive experience as it heightens the long-term effects of the racism brought forth as a result of colonialism.

I think I'll just find myself watching this again at some point, but right now, call me floored.
