for once i was actually in the mood to watch one of these testosteroney films that crops up on every "top 100 movies every white male critic watches before he dies" list. it's good! anti-capitalism! i loved seeing humphrey bogart play a paranoid greed monster, and max steiner/john huston's decision not to include any music during that barfight scene was ahead of its time.
