“This job is eating me alive. I can’t breathe anymore. I spent all these years trying to be the good guy, the man in the white hat. I’m not becoming like them. I am them.”
Donnie Brasco is a pretty solid movie. I wavered between a 3.5-star and a 4-star rating, but Micheal Madsen as Sonny Black is just *chef’s kiss*, so I had to give it the 4 stars. Also besides Michael Madsen, this movie has an impressive cast consisting of Johnny Depp and Al Pacino. The plot is a bit slow at times but overall never boring. The script was also often unexpectedly entertaining. I also like how this film shows Donnie becoming less and less of an FBI SA and more and more of a mobster. The ending was also solid, again nothing too special. My overall rating would be somewhere between 3.5 and 4, so probably 3.8. Definitely worth seeing, especially if you are a mafia fan.
