I can quite understand why some people found the looping music too much but for some reason it totally worked for me. I sort of admire the audacity of someone to make that decision when creating the film.

This one is all about the aesthetic really. Lots of long shots and staring into the distance expressions which is my sort of thing. Certain elements like the aforementioned soundtrack and the fact Jean Baxter is only ever mentioned by his full name made this feel slightly comedic to me, which I'm not sure was intentional, but certainly added to my enjoyment.

Not that much going on in this one, but aesthetically wonderful. Gains half a star for Sonic Youth on the soundtrack, though loses it again for a fairly crap ending.

Just an absolute delight to watch. Allen's messages aren't always subtle but the delivery is just so wonderful to watch that it doesn't matter. A tale about recognising the folly of romanticising life, but still with plenty of lovely romanticism to appreciate anyway.
