    Bohemian Rhapsody

    ★★★★

Whilst Bohemian Rhapsody is a fundamentally inaccurate documentary in places, it it undoubtedly a heart pounding musical experience. Malek nails it as Mercury, as he gives a superb physical and emotional performance for this larger then life persona. Even if you aren’t a Queen fan, the Live Aid finale is still incredibly uplifting and epic much like the protagonists remarkable life.

    Ad Astra

    ★★★½

Ad Astra is probably one of the most visually stunningly space films I’ve even seen. With an exciting opening and an original action set piece on the moon, I had high hopes for the rest of the picture. Unfortunately, the long-winded final act failed to keep me engaged and enthralled in the plot. Worth a watch for the visuals and Pitt’s performance but it will probably be a while until I give it a second viewing.

Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood

    ★★★★½

Probably the most romantised version of Hollywood I’ve seen in a film. Whilst lacking the continuous bloodshed of previous Tarantino films, OUATIH is gloriously funny and tense at times providing a great viewing experience. An instant classic

    Toy Story 4

    ★★★★½

For a sequel that didn’t need to exist, Toy Story 4 is a great addition to the franchise. Whilst many of the older nostalgic characters are pushed aside, a new roster of characters provides many of the films comedic and emotional highs. TS4 is fundamentally a character study about Woody, but thanks to Hanks I didn’t mind one little bit. If this is to be the end of Pixar’s flagship series then it certainly ended on a high.
