How to get ahead in a horror film
This is by no sensible measure a good film in any way but if watched with like-minded friends who enjoy horrible movies it can be fun. An absurd storyline, bad dialogue, glacial pacing, weird acting and non-existent suspense create a potent effect that fans of trash cinema must experience. The laughable Southern accents of the English-dubbed version are the cherry on top. Of historical interest are the exteriors shot on location in New Orleans, which show some parts of the city changed while others remain frozen in time. Anyone desiring anything remotely resembling effective horror should steer clear.
