Bad Education

Bad Education ★★★★

“There’s no excuse for it”
“Well... the sociopathy”

Not as good as Thoroughbreds but far from a sophomore slump for Cory Finley, in fact it really shows some growth and maturity behind the camera. I’m becoming a big fan of his and the way he handles unlikeable protagonists and recurrent themes of moral ambivalence, privilege, boredom and crime, usually with a great pace and well handled satirical tone. The writing, directing, acting and overall storytelling are all great and this is very enjoyable! Can’t wait to see what Finley does next and loved seeing Allison Janney and Hugh Jackman act together, both giving some of their best work
