will inevitably be compared to this year’s Censor as a period piece trading in associations of terror with moving image media (this time 90s video as opposed to Censor’s 80s 35mm) - but this is structured much more like a 70s paranoia thriller than anything resembling a conventional horror film (even with unsettling images and momentary gore) and, as an archivist, few things legitimately terrify me more than the idea of stumbling across footage that I can’t unsee (or at least easily reconcile) so this may hit me harder than it should
