Jean-Luc Botbyl’s review published on Letterboxd:
Decent enough for what it is, but like seemingly every other comic adaptation it completely loses the soul of the source material in favor of being a dry action blockbuster. If it were 20-30 minutes shorter and had more stylized action sequences, maybe its flaws wouldn't have been so obvious or annoying. But as is, it's almost funny how strictly it adheres to the "formula" for action blockbusters, right down to characters reminding us how not gay they are and including what was almost certainly used as a TV spot for the military.
It is what it is, I just (for no good reason) hoped Valiant's entrance into the film business would feel like the same breath of fresh air their 2012 (or 2013?) re-entry into the comics world did.
