  • Scrooged

    Scrooged

    ★★★★½

    Scrooged:
    Score: 4.5 out of 5
    Grade: A-

"The bitch hit me with a toaster"

Thoughts: 80's Billy Murray was a god. This adaption of Scrooge can be extremely funny and extremely dark at the same time. Throughout the film it finds a way to get funnier and darker. One moment you have a fairy hitting Frank with a toaster and the next you have a man who froze to death under the Trump Tower. Ha, Scrooged knew how to foreshadow.

  • Hannah and Her Sisters

    Hannah and Her Sisters

    ★★★★½

    Hannah and Her Sisters:
    Score: 4.5 out of 5
    Grade: A-

"My feet hurt, my head was pounding, and I had to sit down I went into a movie house. I didn't know what was playing or anything I just needed a moment to gather my thoughts and be logical and put the world back into rational perspective. And I went upstairs to the balcony, and I sat down, and the movie was a film that I'd seen many times…

  • Manhattan

    Manhattan

    ★★★★½

    Manhattan:
    Score: 4.5 out of 5
    Grade: A-

"New York was his town, and it always would be"

Thoughts: The Opening Scene. The Opening Scene makes the movie. With the beautiful shots of New York over Allen's struggle to find a good hook for his novel. This films plot and script felt was very realistic and intriguing.

"Well, Donnie's in a coma, he had a very bad acid experience"

  • Moon

    Moon

    ★★★★½

    Moon:
    Score: 4.5 out of 5
    Grade: A

    "I wanna go home"

Thoughts: Beautiful. Absolutely Beautiful. Sam Rockwell's multiple performances as Sam Bell are outstanding. All of the shots, especially ones of the moon, were fantastic. This story is a one in a million creation. Director Duncan Jones only had 5 million dollars to make this sci-fi mystery yet it took him 33 days to create this triumph. And with the possibility of Sam Bell's character returning in the 2017 film Mute by Duncan Jones I am excited to see Sam's transition back to Earth.

"Gerty, we're not programmed. We're people, do you understand?"

  • Psycho

    Psycho

    ★★★★½

    Psycho:
    Score: 4.5 out of 5
    Grade: A

"I think I must have one of those faces you can't help believing"

Thoughts: Psycho is the ultimate Thriller/Horror/Mystery film. Anthony Perkins gives the performance of a lifetimes as the eerie Norman Bates as well as his mother. The film drags you in deeper and deeper the farther the mystery unfolds. Right down to its grim conclusion it's evident that Alfred Hitchcock is a true mastermind and Psycho is an all time classic.

  • The Place Beyond the Pines

    The Place Beyond the Pines

    ★★★★½

    The Place Beyond The Pines:
    Score: 4.5 out of 5
    Grade: A

"If you ride like lightning, you're gonna crash like thunder."

Thoughts: I watched this movie over a washing machine, standing and I feel like that's the best way I could've watched it. The one problem, ONE PROBLEM, is the second act. And you may think that a movie where a 3rd of it is bad then it doesn't deserve a 4.5 but my god. Place Beyond The Pines…

  • The Empire Strikes Back

    The Empire Strikes Back

    ★★★★½

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back:
    Score: 4.5 out of 5
    Grade: A

    "Never tell me the odds"

Thoughts: Visuals. Thats all that I need to say. ESB is one of my 5 favorite visual films. The lightsaber silhouette scene is a moment that made me realize why I love movies so much. This Star Wars will always be my favorite and in my eyes one of the best films of the 80's and possibly the best Star Wars.

  • Kill Bill: Vol. 1

    Kill Bill: Vol. 1

    ★★★★½

    Kill Bill: Vol. 1
    Score: 4.5 out of 5
    Grade: A-

"That woman deserves her revenge and we deserve to die."

Thoughts: Volume 1 of the Kill Bill Series is just like all of the other films directed by Quentin Tarantio, bloody and fun to watch. One of the greatest scenes in cinematic history, the crazy 88 scene, which was so gory and bloody it had to be shot in black and white to keep the film from being rated…

  • Boogie Nights

    Boogie Nights

    ★★★★½

    Boogie Nights:
    Score: 4.5 out of 5
    Grade: A

"What can you expect when you're on top? You know? It's like Napoleon. When he was the king, you know, people were just constantly trying to conquer him, you know, in the Roman Empire. So, it's history repeating itself all over again."

Thoughts: Sam Hayes has been wanting me to watch this for who knows how fucking long. (As long as Dirk Diggler's diggler) And I have finally watched it and…

  • Ferris Bueller's Day Off

    Ferris Bueller's Day Off

    ★★★★½

    Ferris Bueller's Day Off:
    Score: 4.5 out of 5
    Grade: A
"I am not going to sit on my ass as the events that affect me unfold to determine the course of my life. I'm going to take a stand. I'm going to defend it. Right or wrong, I'm going to defend it"

Thoughts: On the outside this film is fun and loving but on the inside it is heartbroken, lonely, and troubled. A movie known for breaking the fourth…

  • The Goonies

    The Goonies

    ★★★★½

    The Goonies:
    Score: 4.5 out of 5
    Grade: A
"My God, I'm in a crazy house"Thoughts: The Goonies will always be my favorite 80's film and one of my favorite of all time. This is the ultimate 80's, treasure hunt, adventure film.

  • The Usual Suspects

    The Usual Suspects

    ★★★★½

    The Usual Suspects:
    Score: 4.5 out of 5
    Grade: A
"Keaton always said, "I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him." Well I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is Keyser Soze"
Thoughts: Theres only one way to being with this and its with Kevin Spacey. Kevin Spacey gives one of the greatest performances of the 90's and even the century. Possibly one of the best performances of all time. The main point this…
