  • The Muppet Christmas Carol

    The Muppet Christmas Carol

    ★★★★

    The Muppet Christmas Carol:
    Score: 4 out of 5
    Grade: B

"Nah, it's all right. This is culture"

Thoughts: A holiday classic? Quite possibly. Muppet Christmas Carol has every great aspect of christmas, comedy, and muppets in this holiday film. Some see this as a the best adaption of the Charles Dicken's novel. It is in my top 3 if not my number 1. A great christmas film for it's intended audience and everyone.

  • Elf

    Elf

    ★★★★

    Elf:
    Score: 4 out of 5
    Grade: B+

""I'm sorry I ruined your lives, and crammed eleven cookies into the VCR."

Thoughts: When most people think Holiday comedy they think of Will Ferrell running around tights. Elf may be the best Christmas movie of the 21st century but that doesn't say much. Best Christmas comedy of all time would be a more interesting debate. I personally don't see it as the best but I see the popularity.

  • Scrooge

    Scrooge

    ★★★★

    Scrooge (1951):
    Score: 4 out of 5
    Grade: B+

    "You wish to be anonymous?"

Thoughts: Possibly the best performance of Scrooge goes to Alastair Sim. True its from the fifties and the acting is um pretty amature (Jacob Marley's hand to the forehead) but its still one of the best Christmas Carol versions.

  • Spotlight

    Spotlight

    ★★★★

    Spotlight:
    Score: 4 out of 5
    Grade: A-

"Sometimes it's easy to forget that we spend most of our time stumbling around the dark. Suddenly, a light gets turned on and there's a fair share of blame to go around"

Thoughts: Spotlight. A movie with many talking points. Did this film deserve best picture? Probably Not. The acting wasn't anything special. The story was very interesting yet that doesn't get Spotlight any more points since its a true story. The movie itself is good but it probably isn't oscar worthy.

  • All the President's Men

    All the President's Men

    ★★★★

    All the President's Men:
    Score: 4 out of 5
    Grade: B

"Nothing's riding on this except the first amendment to the Constitution, freedom of the press, and maybe the future of the country. Not that any of that matters, but if you guys fuck up again, I'm going to get mad. Goodnight."

Thoughts: All the President's men is a 70's movie on the Watergate scandal. It follows two reporters hunting for clues to solve the Watergate mystery. This film is…

  • Army of Darkness

    Army of Darkness

    ★★★★

    Army of Darkness:
    Score: 4 out of 5
    Grade: B+
Army of darkness has one of the same major flaws as Evil Dead 2. The film would've been better if it wasn't for it's predessesors. If this had been a solo film it would've gotten a higher rating. This isn't as much of a conflict but while watching this I couldn't help thinking of Return of the Jedi and Monty Python's Holy Grail. I also couldn't tell if this was a three stooges halloween special or not.

  • Poltergeist

    Poltergeist

    ★★★★

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

    Poltergeist:
    Score: 4 out of 5
    Grade: A-

"I pray the Lord my soul to take."

Thoughts: This movie surprised me. I knew it was Spielberg and I know its widely known but wow. This is different then any of the other horror films i've watched. This makes you genuielly feel for the characters and the story/plot was amazing. It isn't a 5 star movie but in regards to the time and resources Poltergeist is a horror halloween classic.

  • The City of the Dead

    The City of the Dead

    ★★★★

    City of the Dead:
    Score: 4 out of 5
    Grade: B+

    "I am Elizabeth Slewyn"

Thoughts: I accidently found this film and I'm so happy I did. This movie is the definition of horror. From creepy characters, to a great plot and an amazing score. In regards to the plot it's one of the most interesting in any movie I've ever seen. The great storyline of the witches sabbath and the dark paralyzingly fear from the witches makes the film…

  • The Evil Dead

    The Evil Dead

    ★★★★

    The Evil Dead:
    Score: 4 out of 5
    Grade: A-

"We're going to get you. We're going to get you. Not another peep. Time to go to sleep"

Thoughts: It's 1am when I'm writing this and i don't know if it was sleep deprivation but i heavily enjoyed this. Does it go too out of the way to be gory? Gore is practically the whole film. Is it a good horror film? By today's standards it wouldn't be as enjoyed…

  • Halloween

    Halloween

    ★★★★

    Halloween:
    Score: 4 out of 5
    Grade: A-

"Death has come to your little town, sheriff"

    Thoughts:
Halloween is a small, low budget project with high result. This film created one of the most recognizable characters of the horror genre. This film always kept you anticipating the next move. The great preformances of Donald Pleasence and Jamie Lee Curtis really highlight this film. Director John Carpenter made something out of nothing with Halloween.

  • Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker

    ★★★★

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker:
    Score: 4 out of 5
    Grade: A-

Terry McGinnis: So you fell in a tank of acid, got your skin bleached and decided to become a super villain. What? You couldn't get a job as a rodeo clown?
The Joker:Don't you dare laugh at me!
Terry McGinnis: Why? I thought the Joker always wanted to make Batman laugh!
    The Joker: YOU'RE NOT BATMAN!

Thoughts: Batman Beyond Return Of The Joker is the first PG-13…

  • Batman Beyond: The Movie

    Batman Beyond: The Movie

    ★★★★

    Batman Beyond:
    Score: 4 out of 5
    Grade: B+

Terry McGinnis: Hey, I put my life on the line all the time. One night isn't going to make any difference.
Bruce Wayne: One night always makes the difference.

Thoughts: The great old Batman TAS with a transition into the early 2000's punk twist. I thought this was gonna be awful going in looking at the trailers and the opening theme but I was surprised by great voice acting, an okay…
