I respect the hustle but nowadays this reads as a student feature film project which would have been really cool back then given all the notoriety and attention it got, but it's just not as tasteful now.
A collection of such beautiful stories told in a dazzlingly charming way. Come From Away captures individuals experiencing magical moments in time within a world of fear and uncertainty, finding the good in the oh so terribly bad and horrifying. It is so uplifting to see all the human support and compassion on display despite the circumstances, I imagine it would be an absolute wonder to see on the stage where it was made to be.
This is the world we are becoming everyone, a mass market of rushed, unoriginal popcorn cinema that escalates the major studios into artistic blindness. The Incredibles 2 is a perfect example of this dystopian fantasy coming to life. It is direct sequel garbage, playing out its predecessor beat by beat, except it substitutes in female empowerment instead! Brilliant!
