A rare 70s sports doc devoid of the adoration of machismo and raw physicality, trains the eye on the romanticism of submitting yourself to fail and be broken down as a pre-requisite to compete. there's generally a lot of classicism in these races and a lot of the exploration of it is exhausting - not the case here.
