Lol anyone who thinks this spectacular piece of garbaggio is Schrader’s L’Argent is delusional, but I am happy this was made. Loved the scene when he’s scribbling in his diary “She asked if I’ve ever seen the city all lit up at night. I told her I’ve seen cities burn” hahahah
Many beautiful performances and some great scenes, but why must Lonergan touch everything with an oppressively leaden hand? The symbolism is over the top and he knows it, revels in it. Like being beaten over the head with a long-form essay in Harpers. For the characters in Margaret, life is an opera fr. Watched the directors cut. Indulgent….
