Josiah Morgan’s review published on Letterboxd:
This road never ends. Van Sant plays with time, every cut shifting dimension - the actual literal tonal dynamic of the film. The final punch in the face is in the moments when people stop not to Take Notice, but simply to Take, carrying on a neverending road leaving others worse off. Love comes not from money or from ownership or from wish-fulfillment but from accidental circumstance, that is meeting someone and after three years finally realizing you are dependent - waking up one day already in their cradled arms, comfortable like you never have been before, yeah, have a nice day alright.
