All the Streets Are Silent: The Convergence of Hip Hop and Skateboarding (1987-1997)

All the Streets Are Silent: The Convergence of Hip Hop and Skateboarding (1987-1997) ★★½

Whatever narrative exists is very thin except for the Mars Club, Harold Hunter and KIDS segments. Too many characters and not enough focus on any of them for a common thread to exist. Every 2 minutes we jump to a different person or situation and there’s very little connective tissue between them. Jarring shit, but I’m sure there’s a compelling story somewhere in here. I just think they failed to tell it, or they tried to tell too many at once.
