"No, married people hug... married people hug!" -Jill,
Absurdist suburban humor... let's go.
The suburbs get made fun of so much that you really need to up your game if you want to do something original and fun and Greener Grass occasionally does that. Greener Grass follows two moms and their families through a surreal and absurd world where boys turn into dogs and people give birth to soccer balls. I like how the film starts relatively grounded before devolving into chaos. No one can escape the suburbs. The culture eats you and swallows you whole and the film does a good job of demonstrating little aspects of the culture on an exaggerated and absurd scale.
I like it.
