Ah this is so scary. One of my biggest fears is losing one of my senses and no longer being able to function the same way in my job, which I love. Sound of Metal is really effective at demonstrating how one major change in life alters your whole life in irreparable ways but also may open up whole new mindsets. It's a specific story but it encourages people to find the universal themes of struggle and isolation. It's got great sound design, which is essential for how they tell the story, and a great cast.
