Sure the plot is highly derived and all the conflicts are resolved in mere seconds BUT sea monsters used as an allegory for homophobia, pasta eating competition, and a cat named Machiavelli means this movie has my whole heart.

Luca Alberto and Giulia also have my whole heart. Santa Ricotta!

  • Come From Away

    Come From Away

The best original musical of the 21st century and probably even further back than that. Jenn Colella is the best of Broadway and this musical should have won EVERY Tony it was up for. Smh at the audacity of Dear Evan Hansen premiering it’s movie at the same time as this 😑

Fun story; I saw Jenn Colella do a cabaret show not too long ago and she introduced herself saying β€œHi, I’m Jenn and I’m a lesbian who’s gonna sing some show tunes for an hour.”

  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

    A few things:

    - LOVE that this movie was actually unapologetically just about women

    - Tony Leung!!! 😍 πŸ˜™

    - how crazy is it that when you have independent filmmakers making your big budget action films, you get SO much more out of the story and characters and relationships in a way that does not lose any of the action and in fact just amplifies the action and the stakes and makes it THAT much more exciting. Crazy. Anyways go watch Short Term 12.

  • X-Men

The last X-men movie I watched was Dark Phoenix and fuck that movie for making me forgot how much I love X-men oh my god!!

Tell me another superhero movie with a hero/β€œvillain” dynamic as good as prof x and magneto you CAN’T

  • Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown

Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown

You know it’s AlmodΓ³var when it features immaculate interior design.

I loved it when the women were nervously breaking down and still got all the shit done.

Also can we talk about Candela’s little coffee pot earrings? Very ahead of their time, every queer girl today would be wearing earrings like those.

  • The Florida Project

    The Florida Project

    I’m simply ~in love~ withΒ Willem Dafoe.

I love this movie even more now than when it came out. I think it’s going to keep aging better and better and should be a staple in contemporary American cinema.

  • 2046

Marvel who? Star Wars what? WKW lonely lovers cinematic universe is MY comfort franchise.

  • Avengers: Age of Ultron

    Avengers: Age of Ultron

I don’t understand why Hawkeye needs his own show when this was literally Clint’s Little House on the Prairie feat. some Avengers and stuff

  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier

    Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Quite simply the gayest movie I have ever watched.

Til the end of the line, palΒ . . . very much has I can’t quit youΒ energy.

Steve would rather dieΒ than live knowing Bucky doesn’t know him. Bucky is alive and Steve opts to fall off that Helicarrier, thinking to himself, β€œWell if Bucky can’t have me, nobody can!!”

  • The Green Knight

    The Green Knight

Very weird and slow and I LOVED it. Could easily watch another two hours of Dev Patel panting through the forest trying to find courage or whatever

  • Zola

The glitziest, messiest fairytale I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching.

Amazing performances, amazing sound, what is not to love?!

  • Black Widow

    Black Widow

Would have been even more hype about this if it came out four years ago but I’m glad I’m at least alive for Marvel to finally realize they should make a solo movie about its coolest character.

Also this reallyΒ nailed the father-daughters dialogue. β€œI know I’ll just mess it up.” Very relatable.
