That's how he gets the people's attention 🎺🎼
"Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" is a paean to jazz and the people who made it great. But even more a way to unite two of the best actors of our time - Viola Davis plays her heart out once again, but it is Chadwick Boseman who truly holds the film together with his last performance.
Even though I had some problems with the directing and and the tonality of the script, this film is worth watching alone for it's masterclass in acting and to experience Chadwick's great monologues which make his liveliness infinite. In every single second you can see in his eyes how much he loved acting and during the whole running time it transmits to the viewer. It's almost as if it was fate that his last role is also the one that will make him unforgettable.
