J.V. Jowett’s review published on Letterboxd:
Maybe this year is getting graded on a curve for me because this was a lot more satisfying as a viewing experience than practically every other flick I've seen this year. The opening, like always, was the best part of this Zack Snyder driven sofabuster (what are we to call these streaming movies with such large budgets?). The oft disregarded cinematography being one its strongest elements of the film giving a claustrophobic atmosphere throughout. There's not much going on inside the pretty little head of this one. Opting for a more sensuous action driven narrative than anything silly like twists or plot complications. It's easy watching that doesn't try to raise any hard questions or parallels to real life events. Perfect for this weary cinema-lover but maybe not for those who want a bit more meat on the bone.
