The Perks of Being a Wallflower ★★★★½

and in this moment, i swear, we are infinite.

ok so this is not the most perfect movie ever made, but it’s very personal to me. the book is fantastic (and better than the movie), and you should read it because it adds more structure to the film.

the movie is set in and shot in pittsburgh, which is where my grandparents live and it’s definitely my favorite place to be. i used to call the fort pitt tunnel “the magic tunnel” when i was little, and my grandma would take me to eat at kings all the time.

this movie deals with a lot of heavy topic in a less-than-two-hour film, so i can’t say with confidence that it hits on all of them perfectly. so, i will once again recommend reading the book, because it’s truly a work of art, and i think this is one of the best book-to-movie adaptations ever.
