Kalen’s review published on Letterboxd:
Possessor is a brutal sci-fi flick carried by fantastic direction, terrific performances, and a rock solid script. On the surface, it is about an assassin taking over the bodies of unsuspecting people to carry out hits. It is not for the feint of heart, but I’d be lying if I said that the violence didn’t have purpose. If you peel back the layers, it seems the film is taking a look at the human condition in modern society and how corporate culture dehumanizes us. The film introduces a lot of ideas and examples of this, but I found myself wondering if certain things were explained. This film begs for a rewatch and I suspect my rating will go up when I watch it again. All I know is that this film proves that the Cronenberg legacy is top notch and Brandon has me excited for what he will do next.
