Kalpit Tandon’s review published on Letterboxd:
Army of the Dead is as unapologetically Zack Synder-esque as it could get and indulges his fancies on a grand scale. There are ideas of evolved united species developed initially but then squashed for mind numbing gore galore. But again, one can't simply discard Snyder's vision - howsoever inconsistent the end results might be.
Truth be told, the stakes are never that mighty and there is a weird lack of momentum when in between all the mayhem, characters go knee-deep into their own cringeworthy conversations with no sense of urgency. Having said that, Army of the Dead is still a pulpy gleefully deranged zombie feast - albeit with little to no sympathy for subtlety.
