karamashi’s review published on Letterboxd:
A raw, crass, and very funny debut from one of my favorite filmmakers. Feels alive and outrageous. Very queer and of course, openly compassionate about its female centric relationships and characters. The real villains are the authoritatively hetero. Great to know Almovdovar could turn farce on its head to reveal something tragic and fragile as early as his first film. He’d pursue darker and more serious stuff, but seeing this lovingly punk kind of work is invigorating.
