    The Adventures of Tintin

Full disclosure, right off the bat: The Adventures of Tintin is low-key one of the best action-adventure movies ever made.

It quickly joined the pantheon of "Movies which I immediately re-watch the following day"

I first watched it in a VR movie theater while not entire sober, and honestly chalked up how impressive and enthralling it was to my inebriated mind.

Knives Out oozes talent from every department. From Yedlin's phenomenal lighting and brilliantly designed shots, to the beautiful work of the production and costume team, and all wrapped within Johnson's watertight screenplay.

It's a masterpiece of the genre and completely deserving of every bit of praise that gets tossed its way.

Upgrading to a Five Banger, because that is what it's always been.

  • RoboCop

"I'm going to love this movie, aren't I?"

-Me, two seconds into a ten second scene of some corpo doofus being obliterated by a mech.

RoboCop is a pure distillation of the cocaine-hazy, batshit crazy zeniths of action that only the 80's could bring. Massive budgets and cheap blood, truly the best time to be a filmmaker with a fondness for gore.

Brutal, funny, and charming with a slick undercurrent of satire that manages to perfect eschew glorying the prevailing…
