Am I crazy or was every dress Maggie Cheung wearing fantastic?
I've been a little skeptical of the fawning over the Criterion Collection I see online consistently. This is the 2nd CC film viewing over the past few weeks and they were both fantastic. I gushed over Blood Simple a few weeks ago and now this fantastic film. I'm sold on CC. and plan to keep watching more of the collection in the near future.
Slight spoilers ahead:
In The Mood For Love evoked a lot of Hitchcockian vibes for me. A slow-burn plot reminiscent of Rope. I was unaware of the plot and thought with the lighting, the framing, and the soundtrack there could be murder afoot. Obviously, I was wrong, and I'm thankful for that. Incredible film.
