Hoist the colors.
At World's End is a fucking mammoth of a movie. Gore Verbinski achieves a sort of The Return of the King-lite, and it, for better and worse, works. It's just shy of three hours and it's paced incredibly well. It's the sort of ballistic, enormous, mindless blockbuster filmmaking that I love. Does Verbinski's film hold water or have genuine stakes? No. But shit, it sure feels like it does.
Probably my favorite of the Pirates trilogy.
