An absolute treasure in every way. The jokes and puns are still remarkably sly, the songs are memorable, and I was caught off guard by how dark this movie is. It begins with a lonely frog singing about "The Rainbow Connection" and climaxes with that same frog standing face-to-face with people who want to blow him away (even after he gives a heartfelt speech). But the tone is never bitter...it's a joy to watch these characters find each other (all of the Muppets seem lost and lonely before coming together) and journey to "make millions of people happy." To say they succeed with this movie is an understatement. Rarely has there been a children's entertainment as original and groundbreaking as this one.
