Where Is My Friend's House? ★★★½

This is such a beautiful film. One that captures the innocence and empathy that's inherent within every child. The biggest wonder of this film is the way it conveys such simple universal emotions through the simplest of means.

Intentions don't always fit an equilibrium. The kid means well and so do the adults but the confusion stems from the conflict between obedience and what one percieves to be the right thing to do. I'm sure every child at one point or another goes through a similar dilemma.

I have all the time in the world for simple and human films like this and I definitely need to get onto watching more Abbas Kiarostami, especially considering Close-Up has been a personal favourite of mine for a long time now.
