Kieran Westphal’s review published on Letterboxd:
"monsters from the Id" is a little hokey to me, a devout freud disliker, but its use as a narrative device is pretty neat when you put the freudian naming conventions out of your mind.
I think it's kind of beautiful how there isn't one piece of this film that hasn't been extracted and explored further in subsequent sci-fi media. it's a real stepping stone for the imagination, from such innocuous ideas as robots that can molecularly recreate any food substance out of the air to the, uh, weird fetishism of the sexually repressed space lady. there's nothing left untouched in this film, which is a tremendous sign of its impact on the genre.
