    When it's time for me to die, stay with me.

    I tried to watch Ringu when I was younger after struggling through Verbinski's remake (i.e. sobbing in fear on the way home from the theatre with my dad) and ultimately couldn't finish it. Finally making it through, nineteen (!) years later, as a well-seasoned horror junkie, it's just completely timeless.     It was just a weird...series of events.

    I can see *why* Cameron prefers this one to the original, as the general conceit really is clever (and Akhavan is a tremendous replacement for Brice). My only thing is that I absolutely think it should've ended just under 15 minutes earlier than it did, which would've been infinitely more impactful—and raised its score for me, subsequently. I'm definitely invested enough to be excited for a third, finale installment, though, so here's hoping we get that eventually!
