    breaks my heart — hard not to bring personal experiences to the film (thought about my late grandpa, who had dementia and became as unrecognizable to us as we were to him; now my grandmother, who is terminally ill, and asks me the exact same questions every time i talk to her on the phone).

    the film is also very charming — clever premise and dick johnson is a gem.
