• The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

It just wasn’t all that scary. Most scenes lacked any real tension, and the ending is the biggest testament to that. The first act of the movie I was pretty invested in but then weak jump scares start happening. The acting is really good across the board especially Wilson and Farmiga. I feel im being harsher on this movie then I mean to be it was just disappointing. Overall it’s fine, there’s good in this movie it just could’ve been so much better.

  • Barry Lyndon

    Barry Lyndon

Literally a flawless movie. I can’t stop watching it, and becoming fully immersed in every second. Masterful.

  • Crawl

I got exactly what I expected from this and I’m very happy to say that. It’s a fun thriller about gators attacking what more can you ask for.

  • The Fly

    The Fly

Jeff Goldblum gives a masterful performance as the titular Fly. Geena Davis is great too but the truly fantastic co-star is the makeup. We just don’t get movies like this anywhere. The first act takes time to get going but once the plot starts I was fully invested. Great body horror movie.

  • Till Death

    Till Death

A watchable movie that does nothing special. The acting is passable, the story is fine. Everything is just passable in this movie. It’s fine.

  • Heathers

One of the most hilariously quotable movies I’ve ever seen. The acting is incredible across the board especially Winona Ryder, and Christian Slater. The story is so great and paced perfectly. This is definitely a movie I’ll watch many times in my life.

  • The Guilty

    The Guilty

Jake Gyllenhaal keeps this movie from being a snooze. On paper this is a good movie, but it lacked any tension. Makes me wanna check out the original though.

  • No Time to Die

    No Time to Die

No Time to Die has an incredible first half that gripped me, and the scene with Ana de Armas is the best in the film. I wish her character went with them throughout. There’s a point in the second act where the pacing slowed down, and the movie never really reached back up to the heights of the first half. Daniel Craig is my favourite James Bond and he’s still incredible here. I thought Rami Malek was good but his character was very weak. Overall it’s worth a watch but it’s not a Bond movie I would revisit.

  • Vice

I’m Canadian so I’m not sure on how factual this is but I liked it. If what happened in the movie is to be believed then this movie is terrifying, and Adam McKay brings some levity to it which I enjoyed but when it needs to get serious the movie isn’t afraid to be. The cast is fantastic all the way around. Christian Bale and Amy Adams are so incredible in this and Bale should’ve won the Oscar. Some of…

  • The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Simply one of the greatest cinematic achievements to date. There is not a single element that doesn’t work. From the direction to the production design to the screenplay and so on and so forth. The cast and characters are also just perfection. I really can’t think of a flaw. It’s one of my top 5 favourite movies of all time and I’m standing by that. I can’t wait to jump into the next one.

  • Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins

    Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins

I love when a movie gets good actors and stunt people, and then instead of having nicely framed action sequences to show it off they put the camera on top of a vibrator to give me motion sickness. It’s so cool.

Henry Golding is good but the character of Snake Eyes is such a dick. Again, not Golding’s fault he just wasn’t given a script to work with. The dialogue and plot structure of this movie are so bad. The last act is honestly so dumb.

I think I might lower my rating the more I think about this movie.

  • The Ring

    The Ring

A great horror movie. The performances are great throughout especially Naomi Watts. The direction is great as well. Gore Verbinski is a very underrated director in my opinion, and he shows a lot of his skills here.

I think I’m in the minority but I just didn’t find it that scary. Tense? Yes. Scary? No.

Great movie but not one of the greatest horror movies ever in my opinion.
