SCARY. FRIGHTENING. LIFE CHANGING!
This was too much to comprehend.
I thought this would be the fastest 1 hour I ever spent but it was rather one of the hardest and weirdest. Each frame, each sequence is so beautifully crafted, Don Hertzfeldt, a director I have barely heard of before tells the story of our protagonist, Bill so masterfully.... he uses nothing more than heartwarming drawings mixed with some live action moments to craft an experience that goes on forever. This piece of art sucks the audience into it so strongly, one totally forgets it's all stick figures, accompanied by narration and imagery, which is gloriously done by the way. It raises questions about life and existence which can make any person tremble with emotions. So yeah, this is basically Synecdoche, New York with stick figures.
