Max’s review published on Letterboxd:
Lovely fun gory time in this flick from Brandon Cronenberg, who clearly relishes in the family connection. Don't want to be seen as a plot whore after my review yesterday of Only God Forgives and this, but I slightly struggled as Possessor veered into the abstract. The film begins with absolute clarity and moves into more psychologically murky territory, which is fascinating as it goes; just left me wishing I could feel more as the airless identity battles butted heads with the reappearance of the protagonist's personal life. Still, a great ride, and some fantastically physical effects as can be expected from a Cronenberg.
Side note: you can tell me that Anne-Marie Duff isn't the star of this film but I won't believe you.
