    The Cry of Jazz

jazz documentary from 59 when miles was still hip and trane was getting really good, this movie examines the musical language of the genre as it pertains to the socio-economic reality of the black american population. if you want to find out about the philosophical significance and meaning of harmonic, rhythmic and compositional jazz repertoire as well as listen to some nice recordings of the sun ra Arkestra, this is the movie for you.

    Gone with the Wind

Federal nostalgia do be idealizing slavery, doe but also a piece about women's economic and sexual liberation with pleasant melodrama in pretty technicolor. Certainly not a movie to judge in a monistic fashion since I do think its overall cultural impact did turn out to be more positive than it was regressive and harmful. Just don't let this be your go-to source on the history of the American Civil War maybe.
