"Whence came these two radiant, celestial brothers, united, for an instant, as they crossed the stratosphere of our starry window? One from the East, and one from the West."

I love this film SO. FREAKING. MUCH. When I am on my deathbed, I will only require this masterpiece to keep me alive. No life support! Just the company of Monsieur Gustave, Zero, and the beautiful Grand Budapest Hotel.

I think it's my turn to be in a Wes Anderson film! Please and thank you!!!

An adorable story about childhood vs. the harsh realities of life. I expected this to be top 3 Wes Anderson for me but it doesn't *quite* make the cut. Mostly just because his other movies are literal perfection, it's tough competition! Also, the cinematography in this alone brings me so much joy.

Week 40: a movie set in a different time period

I think this has THE greatest use of the singleΒ
f-bomb that PG-13 movies are allowed to drop.

Jojo Rabbit does a great job at having lots of funny moments, but not to the point where they get in the way when the film wants to take a more serious tone. Honestly, it's an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. Wholesome and funny at one point, then traumatic, then wholesome…

"I'm trudging through this grey, wooly yarn. It's clinging to my legs. It's really heavy to drag along."

Not only beautifully well made but also beautifully shot. The acting is superb, with Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsbourg being the obvious standouts. I only wish that it had resonated with me more...I might just need to give it a rewatch

I CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT THIS MOVIE. So i watched it again :) I don't think I've ever rewatched something back-to-back like this before, so that in itself says a lot.

"A great man doesn't seek to lead. He's called to it. And he answers."

watching this felt like a literal eternity...but in the best way?

The most impressive part of this film to me is the world-building and social setting. The politics and religion of Dune are incredibly fascinating and each character plays an important role in its system. In addition to the amazing setting, TimothΓ©e Chalamet plays Paul Atreides exceptionally. Offering, in my opinion, one of his best performances…

"You're all going to die tonight."

mannnn this movie is absolutely INSANE. Like off the walls insane.

Relentlessly brutal and gross, Evil Dead barely gives you a chance to catch your breath before throwing you into its next twisted scene. It's a literal gore-fest. The effects are masterfully well done, the fact that they don't rely on CGI at all during this film just blows me away. Although the original played an important role in the horror genre, I appreciate…

Probably my favourite witch movie...ever. The cast is great. It feels like a mix of the occult and Mean Girls which is probably why I love it so much. The final act drags a little bit but other than that this movie is fantastic.
