Caleb’s review published on Letterboxd:
If they hadn’t replaced the ICONIC game score with some generic synth beats I might’ve given this thing a whole 4 stars. It’s a real fun romp, such a blast to see Milla Jovovich, Tony Jaa, and Ron Goddamn Perlman kicking some quality CGI monster ass together.
But if you’ve never played the Monster Hunter games: imagine someone making a Zelda movie, scoring it with some (admittedly very good) royalty-free trailer music, and never once playing the orchestral Zelda theme. Actual crime.
