Explorer Of Movies’s review published on Letterboxd:
* I had fun with this movie though I have lost patience with zero-danger-and-logic animation action for a long time. I thought I should give 3.5, then the credits happened. Which forces me to write the following rant.
* It is about the real family photos at the end which is obviously meant to show family bliss. Most adults including me enjoy animation for its lightweightness and fun. Though sometimes animation can touch real life, most of the time it has no remote resemblance to how we live. The Mitchells vs the Machines is no exception. Though it is supposed to portray a dysfunctional family, it can never manage that through animation for kids. Of course it is animation and to be expected and nothing to complain about. Yes. Unless they add a ridiculous family photo slide show of the cast and crew as if the animation movie before had something to say about our lives. That pretension makes me angry.
* Now that it is out of my chest, I can praise some initial sci fi imagination and satire of the movie which was really good. And it was really funny. Plus the animation looked better than ever. But the action of course makes me feel bored and indifferent.
