Passage

Passage ★★★½

Like a C21 Kafka, dream-logic creating an escalating series of irrational obtacles to interfere with the acheivement of some goal, fast receding in attainability and significance without ever ceasing to be the character's primary motivator... but played out now in nightclub bathrooms and video-game arcades. It abandons the Kafkaesque to go in other directions toward the end, but it still makes a perfect pair of bookends with Haneke's The Castle.
