1982 ★★★½

An interesting way of dealing with war in a film. Not putting it at the forefront of the story, but as a backdrop to a story of a young boy and his trivial pursuit of his crush. Seeing how the different characters react to the confusion of the impending doom was tough. Life was hard in 1982 Lebanon and it can't be any easier right now.

A few average perfomances let down an otherwise solid cast. The two main children (Mohammed Dalli and Gia Madi) were great and Nadine Labaki was excellent.
