Liam Hathaway’s review published on Letterboxd:
Along time ago, my uncle made me and my cousins watch this film on VHS. Before the film started, he turned to us and said with dead seriousness: "Now, what you've got to remember is that Snake Plissken is the coolest person on the planet." True story.
Though, I can't quite call it my favourite Carpenter film (who is more or less my favourite director), Escape from New York is still an exceptionally bizarre high-concept B-movie featuring a slew of avant-garde weirdo characters and is anchored by officially the coolest guy who ever lived.
