this movie has everything. sailboats. murder. 1950’s european men’s swimsuits. jude law’s dick.
overall really good, just not as gripping as i craved. typically dramas in the same vein leave me on the edge of my seat “what’s gonna happen?” and i just don’t think the film succeeded in making the audience wonder whether or not ripley gets caught. even during all the scenes where he’s close to being revealed as an impostor i don’t doubt that he will somehow make it out. the acting is very good, so are all the design elements, i was just missing the suspense i expected. it dragged just a tad bit at times, but not in any particular moment, everything just felt like it was taken at a semi-leisurely pace instead of that quick, blood pumping in your head kinda way i wanted, especially once we get into the investigations.
