I really hate to say this, but this 132 minute movie probably could've (and should've) cut the unnecessary gay subplot... and the unnecessary straight subplot... and the unnecessary straight main plot... Actually, this movie doesn't need to exist.

This film is a lot messier than most people seem to notice, but it is so pretty and whimsical that I forget it most times myself.

One thing: The movie is called Soul and is about jazz music? Not soul music? Seems kind of like a missed opportunity.

Me: "Oh boy, the pandemic sure is stressing me out. I should watch a movie to get some kind of escapism!"

Also Me: Watches this????????? For some reason?????????????????

Hooptober 7.0 [1/31]

What a way to start my first-ever Hooptober!

I was going to say "If I lived in a haunted house, I'd simply move out," but then I remembered that during my childhood, sometimes my bedroom door would slam open and shut in the middle of the night and I'd have to prop it shut to fall asleep. My parents told me that since our house was built around 1910 it was just drafty, but I never believed them because keeping the door shut was so hard.
